With an invigorating autumn climate in October in Beijing, it is a good season for travelling. During autumn, there are many important traditional festivals, such as the “golden week” of National Day, Middle-autumn Festival and Double Nine Festival. Yuanmingyuan, as the Patriotism Education Base, shoulders the mission of spreading Chinese traditional culture. By developing traditional culture and exploring profound cultural deposits of Yuanmingyuan, it attracts more people to celebrate traditional festivals together and pay attention to traditional culture through its influence. 

In the autumn of 2012, Yuanmingyuan held the first Golden Autumn Royal Cultural Festival. Based on the beautiful natural scenery and superior cultural environment during golden autumn, a gorgeous feast in golden autumn was shown to tourists through a series cultural activities full of variety. In the first Golden Autumn Royal Cultural Festival, the high-quality chrysanthemum show was combined with the traditional autumn festival. There were about 50,000 flowerpots of chrysanthemums in the show. Thus, Yuanmingyuan was created as the unique chrysanthemum appreciation and experience place in Beijing. Therefore,  many cultural activities were held such as Traditional Chinese Opera Season in Golden Autumn, Golden Wedding Celebration, Yuanmingyuan • Coming-of-age Ceremony, Tai Ji Grand Event, Golden Autumn Poem Party of “Yuanmingyuan Eulogized by Poems • Microblog Flowing Drinking Vessel”, Elegant Book Club and Golden Autumn Royal Gourmet Festival. As a result, Yuanmingyuan in Golden Autumn was with profound historical and cultural atmosphere, which made tourists feel the new status of royal garden in golden autumn, and more importantly, made Yuanmingyuan became the best place for the public leisure and recreation in golden autumn.
