Place of Unique Beauty is one of the 40 sceneries of Yuanmingyuan. Located amid the hills and waters to the southeast of the Fuhai Lake, it is a small and separate garden with quiet and tasteful surroundings. Built during Emperor Yongzheng’s reign, it is one of the places for Yongzheng to conduct alchemy. Emperor Qianlong and Emperor Jiaqing often strolled about or had a rest here.
